Participants in the strategic level
peacekeeping training course at the College shall be military
officers, civilian police and other civilian specialists. Officers
of the Army, Navy and Air Force shall be not lower than the rank of
a Brigadier General or its equivalent. Nominees from the police
shall be no less than the rank of a commissioner, while other
civilians shall be the rank of a Director. Such officers shall be
nominated by the Nigerian government and the Governments of other
African Countries, starting initially from West Africa. While
participants will be sponsored by their nominating countries or
organizations, they will be subsidized by the College through
donor-funded arrangements. After conducting three courses at this
level with UN and AU as partners, and based on the UN STM3, the
conditions for participation as well as donor funded support have
been met.
